During the last few weeks,
Google Chrome can't be update, giving the following error:
Update server not available (error: 12)
I managed to solve it, so now I have the latest version and
the update system works without giving any error. There may be a simpler solution, but that's how I got it solved, without losing any extensions or thumbnails of the
New Tab page:
- Uninstall Google Chrome. I did this step with the AppCleaner free tool, so if you uninstall it in another way I'm not sure if all this will work. Anyway I definitely recommend AppCleaner for your daily life as it cleans very well all files related to the applications you want to uninstall.
- Install Google Chrome Beta. You can find this beta version by clicking here.
- Update Google Chrome. I selected the menu option Chrome > About Google Chrome, and then I clicked on Update now (with this beta version I've had no problem updating, I hope you either.)
- Uninstall Google Chrome Beta. As first step, with AppCleaner.
- Install the latest version of Google Chrome. The latest version can be found by clicking here.
And that's all. I hope this solution works for everyone! I remind you that you do all this at your own risk. In my case I didn't lost any data, only the history pages. I recommend you do a backup of your bookmarks and any information that you mind losing.
